The first is near the very start (outer edge) of the disk. An ideal tool would give you the listing from the MFT (Master File Table - basically the list of all your files, but organized in a very unfriendly and inconvenient way).Įvery drive actually has 2 of these MFT's. From the briefest glance at SeaTool's documentation, it seems that SeaTools is similar to this. My next best guess would be to find some low-level drive reading tool. It looks like you have tried everything that I would think of. I'm hopeful that I could still get this to work with everyone's help. Tried to plug it in using the enclosure of an old failed portable drive that has USB 2.0.View directory from CMD (not all the time due to freezing),.Tried SeaTools for Windows/DOS - (when it gets detected, long test failed).Access it on a Mac - gets detected but not accessible, drive info shows though.When I plug in my portable drive, it gets detected like it normally would, free space is shown in explorer, but when I try to access/open it or sometimes just right after plugging it in: My documents are backed up but not my MP3s. 1TB Seagate Backup Plus Blue, bought it just last year.
